Yearn2Learn Chess Academy
Build strong chess foundations—one skill at a time.
The Foundations Pathway gives new and early-beginner players ages 6–14 two guided opportunities each week to learn, practice, and play with purpose.
A thoughtful first pathway
Learn the rules. See the board. Make a plan.
Students begin at the appropriate Foundations stage and progress through clear skill checkpoints with instructor guidance, structured practice, and game play.
Advancement is performance-based: students advance when they demonstrate readiness in the required skills. After Foundations, ready students progress to the Intermediate pathway.
Foundations Pathway
Six stages from first moves to confident game play.
Placement and advancement are based on demonstrated skills, not a promised timeline.
The instructor confirms each student’s starting stage and required skills during placement. Students advance when they demonstrate readiness in the required skills.
Schedule and availability
