Photo and media consent

How Y2L Academy uses photos, videos, and student work

Purpose

Y2L Academy may photograph or video students during classes, camps, tournaments, performances, and events. These images may be used on the Y2L Academy website, social media accounts, printed flyers, newsletters, and other promotional or educational materials.

Consent

Y2L Academy requests media consent from families at the time of enrollment. Granting consent allows Y2L Academy to include your child in general classroom, event, or promotional photos and videos. You may indicate your preference on the enrollment form or by contacting our office.

Declining consent

Declining media consent will not prevent your child from participating in any regular program. Staff will make reasonable efforts to exclude non-consenting students from photos and recordings. For public performances or events where media coverage is integral, Y2L Academy will communicate this in advance.

Student privacy

Y2L Academy will not publish full student names, home addresses, or other personally identifying information alongside photos or videos. When naming students in published media, Y2L Academy uses first names only, unless a family provides specific written permission for full name use.

Third-party media

At chess tournaments, public speaking competitions, or other third-party events, Y2L Academy cannot control photography or recording by event organizers or other attendees. Families who have concerns about media at specific events should contact the event organizer directly.

Withdrawal of consent

A guardian may contact Y2L Academy at any time to change their media consent preference for future use. Contact us at contact@y2lacademy.com or 209-709-3767. Previously printed materials or published online content may not be fully removable once distributed, but Y2L Academy will make reasonable efforts to update or remove digital content upon request.
