Junior Math Mastery Contest — S.A.M. Singapore Math

Drawing inspiration from Singapore Maths, we recognize the enthusiasm among primary students

to compete in mathematics contests. This enthusiasm is a positive sign for the progress of

mathematics education. However, we also acknowledge that many mathematics competitions tend

to test students’ knowledge beyond the school syllabus, which can be discouraging for some

students.

To address this, the Junior Maths Mastery Challenge (JMMC) is designed with the following

objectives:

1. Promoting Mastery: JMMC aims to encourage young students to compete at an

international level, focusing on their mastery of the school syllabus rather than advanced

topics. This approach allows students to showcase their abilities and understanding of

mathematics within their grade level.

2. Identifying Talent: The competition serves as a platform to identify and nurture

mathematical talents among students.

3. Curriculum Alignment: The JMMC syllabus is designed to align with various primary

school curriculums worldwide, ensuring that students can participate without requiring

advanced knowledge or extensive special training.

4. Creating Excitement: The competition aims to create excitement and enthusiasm in

mathematics among students, providing them with an intellectually challenging

experience.

5. Prestigious Achievement: Participating in JMMC provides students with a prestigious

achievement record for their portfolio. We anticipate a diverse participation from students

across various countries.

6. Quality Assessment: All JMMC papers are developed and validated by an international

expert team of test constructors. This team comprises well-experienced education

professionals who are experts in quality assessment and have a deep understanding of

complexity in delivering subject matters in the classroom.

Fee: $30 per student

Seats: Limited — registration closes when seats fill or on Nov 10, 2025 — whichever comes first.
