Y2L chess academy

 Y2L hosts friendly, well-run K–12 scholastic & Open tournaments designed for both first-timers and experienced players. Events are typically 4 rounds at G/25; d5 with Swiss or Quads.

Sections offered

• Unrated / Newbie (Intro) – perfect first tournament; no US Chess ID required
• Rising Knights (U500) 
• Tactical Titans (U1000)
• Royal Rooks (1000+)
• (Occasional) Community Open (All Ages)

Awards & team scoring

• Trophies to Top 2 in rated sections; medals for 3rd place & notable scores in all sections

Turnout & capacity

• Most events draw 20–40+ players and are capped at 50–64 seats to keep the day on schedule. Waitlists open automatically once full.
