Y2L Academy's Public Speaking & Debate Summer Program offers an engaging, enriching, and fun-filled experience that empowers students in Grades 2–8 to confidently express their thoughts, ideas, and opinions. Our summer program is specifically crafted to boost public speaking skills, encourage creativity, and build essential confidence that lasts a lifetime.

  • Story Cubes for Speech Starters

Focus: Critical thinking, persuasive speech, opinion expression, mini-debates


Showcase: 

  • Would You Rather? Debate
  • Ad-Squad: Create a commercial
  • Opinion Corners (move to a side of the room to express agreement)
  • Building a 3-point argument with supporting examples
     

Ideal for: Students in grades 3-8

Focus: Thinking on your feet, expressive speaking, improv games, storytelling with drama

  • Character Speech (e.g., “Speak like a Pirate!”)
  • Story Circle: Each child adds a sentence to a developing story
  • Expression Relay (conveying emotion using only tone)
